How will it work?
Rough Girl will kick off on Thursday, March 4th with Chapter One: Angry Kid. A new chapter will be added on the 15th, which will be written as directed by readers/ collaborators. Subsequent chapters will arrive on this every-other-week schedule each month for the next ten months.
Participate, Collaborate:
Everyone and anyone is invited to participate. You do this by reading the chapter and posting a comment with one of the following:
1. Plot suggestions--what will Jane do?
2. Ideas for craft, character, setting: introduce a new character into the story or take Jane to a new place, submit scenes or bits of dialogue of both.
I will read and evaluate all comments posted and use this to shape the next chapter.
What's in it for you?
1. Cash money.
That's right. Each month, my neutral third party Evaluator will select one participant to win a $100 cash prize, paid by me. You should have a PayPal account setup in order to receive this.
2. Fame.
Definitely, maybe. At the completion of this novel, I will pursue publication for a printed version of Rough Girl. The printed book will feature the names of the participants/ collaborators who helped to make it happen.
